Newly-built Moses Mabhida Stadium looks likely to be remembered more for its architectural innovation than for its football. From the FIFA website "takes its design inspiration from the South African flag, with its grand arch representing the unity of this sport-loving nation. The two legs of the arch on the southern side of the stadium come together to form a single footing on the northern side, symbolising the new unity of a once-divided country".
And "...complete with a cable car which ascends to a viewing platform at the top of the expansive 350m arch, a staggering 106m above the pitch".
The stadium will rightfully host one of the semi-finals.

Good day for Dortmund as chasers falter
4 Feb 2012 at 3:05pm
Borussia Dortmund were the big winners in the Bundesliga today, despite playing last night, as fellow title-challengers Bayern Munich, Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach all drop points in draws.

Bayern Munich find themselves two points short of Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund after Hamburg held the viistors to a 1-1 draw, with Ivica Olivc's second-half goal rescuing a point after Jacopo Sala's earlier strike.
