Pretoria
Loftus Verfeld Stadium must surely have one of the longest history of sport than any of the World Cup stadiums. The site of the stadium was first used for sports in 1906. When it hosted part of the All Blacks tour of South Africa in 1928 they 'upgraded' by erecting changing rooms and toilets.
The name have changed through modern history as its sponsors change: Minolta Loftus, Securicor Loftus and in 2005 Vodacom became sponsor and changed the name back to Loftus Verfeld.
It hosted the 2009 Currie Cup final.
It was also the venue where Bafana Bafana won their first ever match against a European side as they beat Sweden 1-0 in 1999.
Outside of World Cup season; the stadium is the home of SA top rugby team the Blue Bulls.
