Looking for work does not have to be a stressful task. A plethora of job agencies and web sites in South Africa exist to aid you in finding the job best suited to you.

Our recruitment web sites and agency recommendations below are by no means the conclusive list from which to find a job in Cape Town and Western Cape, but it should provide you with a good place to start.

A quick survey around the office provided some recommendations for where to get your CV seen: pnet.co.za claims to be South Africa number one job board. Our own research with a tester CV received three replies (first week); two were seemingly "fishing" responses but one was an actual lead for a real job.

Another site worth mentioning is careerweb.co.za (specialising in ICT jobs). The registration process is quite cumbersome (as it was for PNET) due to the large detail requirement. CareerWeb took a little bit longer than PNET to get the first agency response, however a feature we liked with CareerWeb is the statistics they provide about how many times your CV has been viewed. Another of our favourites is Bizcommunity.com, which provides detailed jobs available within the media, marketing and advertising community. Search options are extensive, with the possibility of viewing jobs which you may not otherwise have known how to find. A listed search will return results within job categories, industries and titles.

There are, of course, many similar recruitment web sites in South Africa. If the sites below provide you with no joy, our advice would be to find out about agencies specialising in recruitment within your field.
